Surry Hills #1
A dated 1990's one bedroom apartment was given a complete make over that it needed. For the design conscious client every detail was considered to create a sense of harmony and consistency in the space. From the front door through to the balcony everything was changed. The flooring, doors, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom wardrobe and bespoke joinery items designed.

Part of this renovation involved looking at how we could maximise the space in the tiny kitchenette. We had to revise the floor plan without taking over anymore floor space than it already had. The solution was to create a doorway into the corridor which created a transition space and 2nd entry. This enabled us to add a cantilevered island bench with seating for two, large drawer storage and a custom book shelf. Moving the fridge into the existing over sized laundry cupboard made for clean lines along the concrete bench tops and over head cupboards enhancing the hand made tile splash-back. The result has transformed this once tiny kitchenette into a functional working kitchen for entertaining and casual dining.

Other design details throughout the apartment are the replacement of the standard door sizes and materials giving the feeling of a much grander scale. Customised joinery in each room adds to an effortless and finished appeal.
